During his burial last Saturday August 17, 2024, in Dschang, West Region, the former Indomitable Lion was posthumously decorated with Cameroon’s Order of Valor medal.
Family members, friends, and fans of the fallen Indomitable Lions midfielder, Joel Landry Tsafack Nguemo will live to remember him for his outstanding performances both on and off the pitch. The outpouring of grief and remembrances speak volumes about the indelible mark he had left in the hearts of many. The deceased was posthumously knighted with Cameroon’s Order of Valor medal.
Several former Indomitable Lions including; Rigobert Song Bahanag, Achille Webo, and Geremi Njitap, were present at the funeral event. Words of encouragement were given by the Secretary General of FECAFOOT, Blaise Djounang, on behalf of the Federation’s president, Samuel Eto’o, He mentioned that, God has the best reason for taking away Nguemo’s life from an earthly pilgrimage.
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Jean de Dieu Momo, who was part of the ceremony, pinpointed that, Landry Nguemo was such a wonderful son of Menoua Division. Similar condoling messages were given by several other authorities present. Rigobert Song Bahanag, former player and coach of the Indomitable Lions said that humility is the watchword that the latter kept as legacy.
