President Paul Biya’s Return : Effervescence Grips Atmosphere

The population and members of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement who were by the road waved and at the convoy of the Head of State.

The warda roundabout in Yaounde was a little different during the evening hours of yesterday October 21, 2024. General effervescence filled the air. Everyone was impatient to see the Presidential convoy. People wanted to personally see for themselves and then take the news to the quarters that the Head of State is back and alive. "Paul Biya oyeeee, welcome back to the rumours of your death. It is an indication of long life. You remain our President," one of the bystanders said in a loud voice. It was evident the Head of State is warmly welcomed. Pedestrians were excited to see their President. Members of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) of the Yaounde VI turned out in their numbers to hail and chant in honour of the President, whom rumours on the social media had declared death. All the wings of the party (youth, women and men) showed up at the warda neighborhood and excitedly waved at the convoy of the Head of State. The voices were loudest when the Presidential luminous, on board the first couple of the Republic drove pass. "President Paul Biya is alive, he is not death. Our President, father of the nation...," are some of the words chanted by the CPDM party militants before and during the passing of the President of the Republic.  Some waved the picture of the Head of State, printed on hand banners with the words "Paul Biya, My President," in both English and French.  In appreciation, the Head of the State, whose window screen was ...
