Nyong and So’o : CERAC's Largesse Reaches Dzeng

The Women Empowerment Centre of the locality equipped by the First Lady's association was officially handed yesterday in a ceremony chaired by Minister Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa.

The population of the locality of Dzeng in the Nyong and So'o Division of the Centre Region, was all smiles yesterday October 31, 20 24 as a delegation of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) extended their goodwill gestures to them. The event was the official handing over of the Women’s Empowerment Centre of Dzeng, equipped by CERAC and the donations of items to the rural Women, youths and the aging population of the Nyong and So'o Division.  At the behest of the Founding President of CERAC, Mrs Chantal Biya, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa chaired the ceremony. 
The equipped Centre empowers especially young girls of the locality in the domains of tailoring, culinary, hair dressing and project management.  Handing over the Centre, the First Lady's representative said the ambition of CERAC is to promote social inclusion by ensuring that Women Empowerment Centres are equipped to be effectively operational. The tailoring machines and other empowerment kits given to the Dzeng Centre, the Minister said, should serve as an opportunity to learn a skill, thereby reducing vulnerability. CERAC, she noted, in its humanitarian actions does not forget any locality, it is just a matter of time and programming. The poor state of roads, the Minister added, might delay the project execution time-frame, but one thing is certain, CERAC will definitely get to where it is previewed. She further added that the Head of State accords priority to social inclusion, a policy which CERAC holds dear, reason for the donation of equipment to rural women to facilitate their autonomy. "The ambition of the First Lady and CERAC is to guarantee an equitable society,” the Minister stated.  
The Head of the Women Empowerment and Family Centre of Dzeng, Bernadette Edoa, promised to see to the good use of the equipped structure. Constructed in 2021, she noted that the Centre currently counts 21 trainees.
