Indomitable Lions : Impressive Qualifying Campaign

Cameroon's Indomitable Lions have secured their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with an impressive qualifying campaign. Qualifying top in Group J with 14 points and an unbeaten run is undoubtedly a job well done. Concretely, it's six matches, four wins, and two draws. A result achieved thanks to Coach Marc Brys' tact in instilling a sense of stability within the squad, maintaining a consistent starting lineup, and a reliable defensive structure. He has made minor changes to his starting XI, mainly due to injury concerns and absences.
In the goalkeeping park, Brys has been steady with his trio of Onana, Ngapandouetnbu, and Omossola. Onana played all six matches, solidifying his first-choice position in the team.
Moving down to the defense, the Lions deserve a pass mark, judging simply from the fact that they conceded only two goals. Individually, some players have been criticized, like Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui, who was sometimes late on balls. Nonetheless, Coach Marc Brys has been seemingly consistent with his four-man backline: Christopher Wooh, Michael Ngadeu, Nohou Tolo, and Jackson Tchatchoua. It was due to injury that Wooh missed the return leg game against Kenya, and Ngadeu missed the last game against Zimbabwe due to an accumulation of yellow cards. In the midfield, the Carlos Baleba effect began to echo right from the first playing day. His capacity to win balls and duels makes him stand out. A combination of André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Carlos Baleba, and Martin Hongla seems to be a perfect midfield trio for the Lions.
