Chantal Biya Mountain Bike Race : Preparations Reach Fever Pitch

The third and last preparatory meeting took place in Yaounde yesterday, Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
As the countdown to the second edition of the Chantal Biya National Mountain Bike Race known by its French acronym as “Course national VTT Chantal Biya” narrows, preparations have reached fever pitch in the country. The third and last preparatory meeting took place in the conference room of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms (MINFOPRA) yesterday, Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The meeting was chaired by Minister Joseph LE, promoter of the event, accompanied by President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Honoré Yossi. Also present was the President of Cycling Federation of the Central Africa Republic, Ismael Brakler Sandy.
Yesterday’s meeting aimed at evaluating the level of preparations in the different sub-committees and make final adjustments where necessary. The heads of the different committees in charge of the organisation as well as partners took turns to present to the Minister the level of preparations in their committees four days to the competition. The representatives of the committees and the different partners gave assurances about their preparedness as they wait for the competition. Modi François Yves Coordinator of VTT in the Cameroon Cycling Federation said the committee is ready for the competition. He said already 130 participants have been registered for this year. Among the 130 participants five are from the Central African Republic and two from France. Yves Modi said 150 cyclists are expected for this year’s event.
