DIXIADES 2024 : Enthusiasm Heightens

Less than a week to the event, the General Coordinator of the Games, Minister Grégoire Owona, spearheaded an inspection visit to several key sites yesterday in Yaounde.
With less than a week to go, the excitement for the 2024 National Games of Cameroon, better known as DIXIADES, is palpable. The capital city is set to host a spectacular event, and preparations are in full swing. Yesterday, December 4, 2024, Minister Grégoire Owona, the General Coordinator of the Games, who is also the First Vice President of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee, led an inspection tour of key venues across Yaounde. The visit aimed to assess the final preparations and ensure a seamless experience for athletes and spectators alike.
The first stop of the visit was at the Yaounde Town Hall. This site will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the event. At this stage, the Minister was accompanied by the President of the Local Organising Committee, Governor Naseri Paul Bea, as well as other collaborators. Minister Owona and his team meticulously examined every detail of the planned events. Their goal is to create a memorable experience that showcases the diversity and spirit of Cameroon. They sought to understand how each stage of the ceremonies would unfold and made suggestions to improve them. Governor Naseri Paul Bea expressed satisfaction, stating that there are some last-minute improvements to be made.
