Cameroon-Algeria : Reviewing Issues Of Common Concerns

Bilateral relations between the two countries have produced positive results over the years.


There exist concrete projects realised thanks to the mutually-beneficial cooperation ties between Cameroon and Algeria. Bilateral relations are constantly intensified and the two parties work on a continuous expansion of the ties to other domains. Whether in the security, diplomatic, political, education or health sectors, there are palpable results that depict a win-win cooperation. 
The most recent is the signing of the agreement on visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and service passports of the two countries on December 21, 2024 in Algers, Algeria. This was during a working visiting carried out by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella to Algeria, on the instructions of the President of the Republic. Besides exchanging ideas to further strengthen these cooperation ties with the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of External Relations, Ahmed Attaf, Minister Mbella Mbella was also received by the President of Algeria.
As a sign of determination of moving cooperation ties to higher heights, the aforementioned Algerian Minister of State was in Cameroon for a working visit and received on behalf of the President of the Republic by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh on January 7, 2025.
Going down memory lane, there have been other high-level official visits such as the visit of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, in Algeria in July-August 2023 that ended with the signing of a security accord and the subsequent opening of a military mission in the Cameroonian Embassy.
