CHAN 2024 : Two Cameroonian Assistant Referees Selected

Carine Atezambong and Rodrigue Menye Mpele will be part of the officiating team at the competition which begins this February.

While the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon will be absent from the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the nation will still be represented on the sidelines. Two Cameroonian assistant referees, Carine Atezambong and Rodrigue Menye Mpele, have been selected to officiate matches during the tournament.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently released the list of officials for CHAN 2024, comprising 26 referees, 25 assistant referees, and 14 Video Assistant Referees (VARs) and Assistant VARs. This list features some of the continent's top officials, and Atezambong and Mpele have undoubtedly earned their place through their exceptional performances.
Carine Atezambong, a renowned figure in African football, has consistently impressed on the international stage. Her name is synonymous with top-level CAF competitions, a testament to her exceptional refereeing skills. Atezambong gained further recognition by officiating at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire and the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia. Notably, this will not be her first experience with CHAN, having officiated at the previous two editions.
