Public Contracts : Stakeholders Push For Early Award

This was during a conference on December 15, 2025 to launch public contracts for 2026.
Stakeholders in the public contracts chain in the Littoral region have advocated for the early award of contracts to ensure proper and effective execution. This call to action was made during a conference to launch the programming of public contracts for the 2026 financial year, which took place on Monday, December 15, 2025.
During the conference, it was revealed that in 2025, some contracts were awarded as late as October, leading to poor or non-execution. In light of this, various stakeholders have united to ensure that 2026 will be different. They emphasized that contracts must be awarded by April 30, 2026, at the latest, to allow for timely execution.
Presiding over the conference, Aboubakary Haman Tchiouto, the Secretary General of the Littoral Governor’s Office, stressed the importance of respecting the law to facilitate timely project awards and proper execution. He reiterated that the conference aimed to ensure effective programming and urged all participants to comply with legal requirements, warning that defaulters would face consequences.
