Apostolic Visit: Goodbye, Pope Leo XIV !

Indeed, all is well that ends well. Pope Leo XIV after his apostolic visit to Cameroon left the country with positive memories. He was accompanied to the foot of the plane by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute at the behest of the President of the Republic. The same personalities who showed up at the airport to welcome the Holy Father upon arrival bade farewell at the end of his apostolic trip on April 18, 2026. The crowd outside the airport made the event electric and even more memorable to the Holy Father. It can be described as reciprocated love as the Pontiff waved and greeted the crowd who had shown up at the airport, chanting songs of praise, waving his pictures and other Roman Catholic relics. The sequence of events at the airport indicate that the Pope upon arrival at the airport had a brief exchange at the Presidential lounge with the Prime Minister. After which the two personalities then walked to the foot of the plane. The honour squadron of the Presidential Guard held up their swords as the Head of the Roman Catholic Church walked on the red carpet. Under the command of Colonel Hongbo Ndong Anicet, Pope Leo XIV was accorded military honours, deserving of his status. Then in front of the national flag, the anthems of the Vatican and Cameroon were song, with the Holy Father bowing to the flag after the singing. Later, the Pontiff greeted the Cameroonian delegation which amongst other consisted of the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella, Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji and the Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea.
