Bamenda (Mezam) - Government officials, traditional au thorities, civil society actors and development partners have called for stronger action to eliminate barriers pre venting women from owning and controlling land, stres sing that secure land rights are essential for women's em powerment and sustainable development.The call was made during the opening of a two-day workshop in Ba menda on July 16, 2026 on the theme, "No Woman Left Behind: Advancing Women's Participation in Land Mana gement and Justice.” The workshop brought together go vernment representatives, traditional rulers, women lea ders, members of the Mbororo community, civil society organisations and international partners to explore ways of strengthening women's participation in land gover nance and access to justice.
