Underprivileged Girl Education: Fonkwe Prudentia Foundation Launched

The project who has as Founder, Chief Justice Fonkwe Fongang of the Supreme Court honours the legacy of his deceased wife who cherished the empowerment of the girl child.

A s a contribution to community development through educa­ tion, Chief Justice Fonkwe Fon­ gang Joseph, President of the Admi­ nistrative Bench of the Supreme Court, last July 11, 2026 officially launched in Yaounde, a foundation that seeks to cater for the educa­ tional needs of underprivileged girls. The foundation is in honour of the deceased wife of the Superscale Magistrate, late Mrs. Fonkwe Pru­ dentia, who passed on in November 2024, reason the initiative bears her name. The official launch follo­ wed a memorial Mass which took place at the St. Joseph Parish, Mvog- Ada. In attendance were cabinet mi­ nisters, amongst them the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, under whom the late Mrs. Fonkwe Prudentia worked till her death, members of the diplomatic corps, judiciary and traditional rulers from Lebialem Division, South West Region, amongst other distinguished guests. Giving details on the foundation, the Founder said it has been created with the primary mission of suppor­ ting underprivileged girls in all ten regions of Cameroon by providing them with access to quality educa­ tion.
