Apart from the low turnout in stadiums, Morocco and CAF deserve a tap on the back for organising a successful event.

F or a third consecutive time, Morocco has successfully hosted the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The 2026 edition took place in the cities of Ca­ sablanca and Rabat. It is no secret that this nation possesses up-to- date sporting infrastructure as well as reliable transport, security and lodging facilities capable of provi­ ding maximum comfort to participa­ ting teams, supporters and guests. Initially scheduled for March, the tournament was moved to July 2026. Rather than detracting from the event, the change allowed organi­ sers extra time to fine-tune arrange­ ments and ensure operations ran smoothly. Beyond logistics, the Confederation of African Football also merits praise for appointing the right referees: few controversies arose over officiating. Professional match officials from across the continent refereed each game with fairness and consistency, and decisions rarely sparked major debate.
