European Union: Head Of Mission Leaves

Jean-Marc Châtaigner who has come to the end of his diplomatic stay was received on behalf of the Head of State by Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute, yesterday August 20, 2026.

A t the behest of the Presi­ dent of the Republic, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday August 20, 2026 received in audience the Ambassa­ dor, Head of the European Union De­ legation, Jean-Marc Châtaigner who has come to the end of his diploma­ tic stay in the country. During the meeting, the two personalities eva­ luated joint projects carried out du­ ring the tenure of the Head of Mis­ sion, who has already been offered a State diner. Speaking to reporters after the au­ dience, the Ambassador, Head of European Union Delegation said va­ rious programmes jointly executed like the construction of the Logone Bridge between Cameroon and Chad, in the domain of infrastruc­ ture, agriculture and energy came under review. Supporting energy supply through the Nachtigal Dam, the project to build a new bridge between Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, and the construction of a new hydroelectric dam in Kikot on the Sanaga River. The European Union is supporting the construction of the 500-megawatt hydroelectric dam project with a financial package estimated at FCFA 650 billion under its Global Gateway strategy. “For us, infrastructure is very impor­ tant but we also mentioned to the Prime Minister the human dimen­ sion of that.
