Minister Felix Mbayu led the Cameroonian delegation for discussions at the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council that held on September 9, 2026 in London.
T he Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, has highlighted the value of Com monwealth partnerships in opening markets, attracting investment and building business relationships. This was during a Roundtable on London Financial Centres, hosted by the Commonwealth Enterprise and In vestment Council (CWEIC) at Guil dhall on September 9, 2026, which brought together senior govern ment officials, financial experts, and business leaders to examine how member countries of the Com monwealth can strengthen resi lience amid growing geopolitical, economic, environmental and tech nological risks. During deliberations, Minister Mbayu thus stressed on the importance of respecting international standards, citing the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM) ISO certification as an example of institutional credibility. Still within Cameroon’s delegation is the Minister Delegate to the Mi nister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Paul Tasong, who presented the country’s expe rience in managing the effects of COVID-19, the Russia-Ukraine war and internal security challenges. He stressed the government’s focus on import substitution, domestic production and food security, while emphasising peace and stability as foundations for development.
