Cycling Tour of Cameroon : Preparations Reach High Gear

Ahead of the competition, officials of the cycling federation recently paid working visits to the Far North and North regions of the country to ensure a smooth unfolding of the race.

In less than one month, the 20th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon will kick off. Ahead of the competition, preparations have reached high gear in the country. Organisers are leaving no stone unturned in order to avoid any hitches.  In this light, the President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Honoré Yossi and other top officials of the federation paid a working visit to the Far North and North regions of the country which will host the first two laps of the race. 
Honoré Yossi held a working visit with authorities of the Far North Region in Maroua on April 30, 2024. During the meeting chaired by the Secretary General of Services of the Governor of the Far North Region, Évariste Atangana Zoa, on behalf of the Governor, Mindjiyawa Bakari, the President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation Honoré Yossi and his main collaborators presented the project to organise the 20th edition of the International Tour of Cameroun in the Far North Region. It was agreed that the team presentation ceremony would take place at the Maroua Ceremonial Grounds on 28 May 2024, the first stage (Maroua-Mora-Maroua, 131.5 km) through the departments of Diamaré and Mayo-Sava Divisions would take place on 29 May 2024, and the start and finish would be judged at the Maroua Ceremonial Ground. 
After visiting the Far North Region, the delegation was in the North Region. The Secretary General of the North Region, Joseph Densou, on behalf of the Governor, Jean Abaté Edi, chaired an important preparatory meeting for the organisation of the race in the North Region, in the conference room of the Governor's Office.
