Men’s Ballon d’Or: Who Replaces Nchindo?

Boris Mfoumou, Konrad Nfanseu, and Serge Daura are the finalists for the most prestigious award at today’s ceremony.

Before the lights go off at the Yaounde Conference Centre today February 27, 2026, one of these names will be on every lip: Boris Mfoumou, Konrad Nfanseu, or Serge Daura; the three finalists for the 2025 Cameroon Ballon d’Or award in the MTN Elite Category. Serge Daura, also the best scorer (15 goals) of the previous MTN Elite One season with Gazelle of Garoua, is among the favourites to lift the prestigious award. He is nominated in three categories: Ballon d’Or, Revelation of the Year, and Top Scorer, which he has already won. The 19- year-old Daura is back with Gazelle after failed trials abroad. He made an emphatic return to action this season, scoring twice as Gazelle FA defeated Fauve Azur Elite 2-1 on Matchday 6 of the MTN Elite One. Konrad Nfanseu is also a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or award. He was one of the major pillars of Panthère Sportive of Ndé’s beautiful season, finishing runner-up in the championship and winners of the Cup of Cameroon. The 20-year-old midfielder joined Panthère Sportive du Ndé FC in July 2024. Last season, he was decisive on several occasions during both the league and the Cameroon Cup. To close the list is Boris Mfoumou, who greatly contributed to AS Fortuna’s maintenance in the Elite One championship last season.
