Agricultural Infrastructure, Value Chian Dev’t: Second Project In View

The government has green-lighted the elaboration of the second phase of the Agricultural Infrastructure and Value Chain Development Project in the South West Region.

The Board Chairman of the South West Development Authority (SOWEDA), Herbert Apande Ediage, has revealed plans for the second phase of the Agricultural Infrastructure and Value Chain Development Project (AIVDP). As the first phase wraps up in a few months, the government, he stated, has given a go ahead for SOWEDA to draw up the second phase. The Boardchair was speaking in Buea on June 26, 2026 at the close of the 54th Ordinary Session of SOWEDA Board of Directors which met to examine the 2025 management performance report. According to Herbert Ediage, the government is scouting for international partners to fund the project which is consecrated to developing the rural world with agricultural and livestock infrastructure and value chain development. On the performance of the publish establishment in 2025, the Board Chairman rated it as good given that management in spite of financial constraints mobilized FCFA 3.6 billion out of the FCFA 3.8 billion which was budgeted.
