General Population Census: Prime Minister Encourages Participation

In line with the ongoing fourth general population and housing census, coupled with the second agriculture and livestock census in Cameroon, the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute has urged citizens to actively participate in the process, given its importance in national planning. The Prime Minister himself responded to questions from the field enumerators, yesterday June 25, 2026, providing necessary information about his household. It was at the lakeside residence of the Head of Government. After the process, he highlighted the importance of the process to every nation. “I am excited about this census process. It was supposed to take place over ten years ago. It is now taking place and we want to thank the President of the Republic for making it possible. I want to say that it is a very important step in our development process. Every country must know the number of people that inhabit it at a point in time. It is important for our planning and development. And that is why I urge all Cameroonians from north to south, east to west to take advantage of this and to register themselves with this census,” Joseph Dion Ngute said.
