Indomitable Lions : Rejuvenating The National Team

The staff have an eye on some newcomers who might join the team in the short term now and even in the future.

The head coach of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song Bahanag has pre-selected 34 players to begin training ahead of the third and fourth playing days of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. What has caught the attention of many is the presence of a host of players with dual nationalities who have been called up to join the group. This is proof that Coach Rigobert Song’s mission to Europe to scout for talented players is on course. The new players on Coach Rigobert Song’s list include 20-year-old Benjamin Njongoue Elliot who plays for Chelsea. Njoungoue has been outstanding at the defence for Chelsea’s U21 team this season. Lille midfielder, Carlos Baleba, is another potential talent. He has done so well in his first full season in the club in the North of France. Malcom Bokele Mputu who plays for FC Bordeaux is another dual national who has caught the attention of Cameroon football officials. 
Former U20 Lion, Enzo Tchato, has been pre-selected for a second time. Boyomo Flavien and Darling Yongwa are other beginners in the defense who play in the Ligue 2. Ajaccio’s Oumar Gonzalez, Kayserispor midfeilder Olivier Kemen are among those who have been called up.
