Fight Against Corruption: Ministries Present Results Of Field Actions

The National Anti-corruption Commission on July 27, 2017 organised the ninth series of workshops to evaluate the Rapid Results Initiatives (RRI).

Representatives of some 15 ministries on July 27, 2017 presented the results of Rapid  Results Initiatives  they used to solve some specific corruption problems using  simple and easy-to-implement activities that  produced results within 100 days. The Chairman of the National Anti-corruption Commission (NACC), Reverend Dr Dieudonné Massi Gams chaired the ceremony organised by NACC that is within the framework of  implementing the National Anti-corruption Strategy.

The Ministry of Arts and Culture presented the results on the fight against the illicit traffic of heritage  artistic objects and goods at the  Douala International Airport. The traffic,  the results stated leads to the tarnishing of the image of the MINAC in particular and that of  Cameroon as a whole. The report focused on objectives, challenges, achievements and proposals for a way forward. The Ministry of State Property, Survey and Land Tenure on its  part  targeted to fight against corruption singling out the non respect of costs  and time frames in state property, land tenure and survey issues. The target was to reduce by 25 per cent the gaps observed in the costs and time frames.  At the end of the 100 days, the team came out with new measures taken to curb the situation,  challenges and recommendations on how to consolidate achievements.
