Mbakop Therese No Longer In Limbe

 The 14-year-old victim of school boycott who suffered a vertebral fracture is not yet back to Nguea Lottin School.

 

“Our pupils and students returned to school last September 4 without Mbakop Therese who was in “Seconde” or Form Five until 11 January this year when she suffered injuries following a stampede that broke out in our school. That day, by mid-day, a group of unknown persons erupted, forced open our gate and started ordering our pupils and students out of school. They were very wild carrying sticks and machetes. The children ran in all directions and down the stairs for their dear lives. Mbakop Therese, in that fear, fell over the staircase and sustained serious injuries.”
This is a translated version of what Mr. Mbime (Senior Discipline Master) and speaking in French told Cameroon Tribune in his Groupe Scolaire Nguea Lottin campus office in Bota Limbe in the South West Region, last Friday.Like Mbakop, some have not returned but as the Senior Discipline Master explained, more than fifty percent are already back to school including new faces. “Fifty percent of our students are effectively back and classes are going on normally with the Police and the Gendarmerie guarding around this second week. In addition to the Gendarmerie and the Police there is also the night patrol from the SONARA that make our school a save place now all round.”, Mbime continued. “The “Groupe Scolaire Nguea Lotin” is a bilingual school with some 140 pupils at the Primary level and 133 students in the secondary and high school section.” Mbime told this reporter.
