The country is still in search of a coach barely 53 days to the start of the 2016 AFCON in November 19, 2016.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) is yet to find a new coach to help the country stage a good performance in the upcoming tournament in Cameroon. After the disastrous participation of the Banyana Banyana at the just ended 2016, Rio Olympics, Dutch coach Vera Pauw contract expired less than 53 days to the start of the competition according to South African media. Haven been one of the continent’s representatives alongside Zimbabwe at the Summer Olympics, the Banyana Banyana emerged last of Group E with one point. They conceded a 2-0 defeat against China, a 1-0 loss against Switzerland and finally drew a one all against Brazil. It is not the first time, the announcement is made by Vera Pauw, as in 2014, after the AFCON she decided to end her career in a press conference.
