Gender Based Violence: 113 Civil Societies Concert To End The Scourge

A mobile phone application, Ops4women, where cases of abuse either against men or women can be reported was launched.
Victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Cameroon now have an online application where they can report their abusers. The application, Ops4women, developed by LUKMEF was presented at a two day National Forum on Gender Based Violence held in Buea on June 20-21, 2018.
Holding on the theme, “Improving standards in GBV service provision through better CSO and service provider coordination”, the seminar brought 113 civil society organisations from seven regions of Cameroon. Lawyers, traditional rulers, imams, pastors compared notes and worked in synergy with the relevant government services to eradicate GBV in Cameroon.
Tanyi Christian, CEO of LUKMEF, indicated that they have reasoned that the quality of services to be provided to survivors of GBV as well as services to prevent GBV be harmonised for cases in the North, East, West etc. That there should be the same quality of services each time a survivor needs the services.
