Parliament: November Session Begins On Friday

It is the session during which the President-elect in the October 7, 2018 presidential election will take the oath of office and parliamentarians will also vote the 2019 State budget.

The November 2018 ordinary session of the Parliament will open Friday, November 2, 2018. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril signed a release yesterday, October 29, 2018 convening the session which for the Lower House of Parliament will start with an opening plenary sitting at 11. 00 a.m.

The November Ordinary session of Parliament is traditional dedicated to the voting of the State budget. Therefore, among other bills that will be tabled for scrutiny, parliamentarians will scrutinise the finance bill relating to the State budget for the 2019 financial year.

The upcoming session of the Parliament will be special, coming once in every seven years. It is comes after the October 7, 2018 presidential election and after the Constitutional Council on Monday, October 22, 2018 in a solemn public hearing proclaimed the results of the election in which nine candidates participated. The President-elect, Paul Biya candidate of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) will take the oath of office during the November session of Parliament.
