Senate: Bills Forwarded by National Assembly Adopted

The Upper House of Parliament is now waiting for the National Assembly to adopt and forward to it the Finance bill for 2019 financial year.
Senators during plenary sittings on November 22 and 23, 2018 adopted all the bills already forwarded to the House by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril. The Senior Vice President of the Senate, Aboubakary Abdoulaye chaired the plenary sittings. The Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali was present in the plenary sittings of Friday 23, 2018 while in those of Thursday, November 22, 2018, he was represented by the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph LE. The Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella on November 22, 2018 defended the bill to authorise the President of the Republic to ratify amendments to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Charter. Following the amendment, OIC has changed its name to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The aim is to achieve several objectives in the internal functioning of the organisation intended to strengthen Islamic solidarity, eliminate social discrimination and colonialism in all forms. Earlier in the evening, the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Transport, Mefiro Oumarou defended the bill to authorise the President of the Republic to ratify the Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Cameroon, signed on 16 February 2006.
