The distribution was done on November 29, 2018 in Tiko in the presence of the Director of Civil Protection.
Accompanied by the Director of Civil Protection in the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Mariatou Yap, Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai supervised the donation of emergency humanitarian assistance to some 200 internally displaced persons who are currently perching with relatives in Tiko Subdivision in Fako. Among them are 14 handicapped males and females as well as pregnant women.
As the Governor explained, the assistance was in conformity with instructions from the Head of State, President Paul Biya, to administer assistance to displaced persons due to the current crisis in North West and South West Regions.
Mrs Mariatou explained that the assistance was to cater for the emergency needs of the displaced persons in the areas of toiletries, bedding and feeding. That is why the numerous beneficiaries in Tiko received for nutrition; rice, fish and oil. For bedding, they were offered mattresses and blankets.
