The equipment was deployed on the occasion of the friendly encounter between Cameroon and Kenya yesterday November 6, 2016.
The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon beat the Harambee Starlets of Kenya 2-1in a second preparatory match between the two teams two weeks to the kick off of the 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Cameroon. The match was an opportunity for the both sides to test their strengths ahead of the football bonanza.
Yesterday’s friendly match against the Harambee Starlets of Kenya was unlike any other international matches that have been played in the Omnisports Stadium in the past. Apart from the victory of the Lionesses and the brilliant performances of both teams, what caught the attention of spectators was the deployment CRTV’s modern equipment and staff. The General Manager of CRTV, Charles Ndongo was present to ensure the overall supervision. The Minister of Communication was present as well including several members of government.
In order to ensure the best production results, some 30 reporters and technicians were on the field to ensure a successful production. For the first time in Cameroon Outside Broadcast Vans commonly known as OB Vans were seen in the stadium. The Centre Director for Broadcast CRTV, Chia Theophilus Salifu said CRTV deployed two OB Vans equipped with 16 cameras.
