Mt Cameroon Race of Hope: All is Set

The 2019 edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope will take place on Saturday February 23, 2019 in Buea. Ahead of the event preparations have gathered steam in the country. The fourth preparatory meeting took place in Yaounde on Monday February 18, 2019.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcissi Mouelle Kombi reiterated that the 2019 Mount Cameroon Race of Hope should not only be used for sports but also as a cultural festival to project the peace and social cohesion of the people of Cameroon. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the state of preparedness for the race and to make concrete proposals.

The different committee heads and representatives of partner ministries took turns to present the state of preparedness of their committees. The head of the technical commit tee Nkolo Michel said the committee is ready. He said the list of the 500 athletes to take part in the race has already been published.

Athletes from the Centre, Littoral and South West Regions are already in Buea for the two-week training camp.
