Study shows that modern NGOs are having a greater impact where they serve.
Having the right technology to process data and their transition to the cloud is vital for survival of the modern NGO. As part of Microsoft’s Modern NGO Campaign to empower non-profit organisations and associations through Microsoft tools and services, Microsoft Philanthropies (a branch of Microsoft dealing with philanthropic issues) conducted a survey to establish how technology is helping NGOs in Middle East and Africa.
Result of the survey involving over 100 NGOs including 13 in Cameroon was presented recently. It shows that 80 per cent NGOs are using technology to transform how they work, 70 per cent of field workers have access to devices, while 60 per cent indicate that using technology such as cloud saves them money, time and increases their capacity.
