Weapons: Government Wants To Ensure Order

The bill to lay down general weapons and ammunition regulations in Cameroon has been scrutinized in committee at the National Assembly.

 

Government has set out to curb the ever-increasing insecurity in the country by ensuring the effective control of the circulation of weapons through legislation. In this connection, the Committee on National Defence and Security of the National Assembly on November 18, 2016 examined and adopted the government bill to lay down general weapons and ammunition regulations in Cameroon.

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo  defended the   bill in committee in the presence of the  Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Michel Ange Angouin who sat in for the Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali.

Members of the Committee on National Defence and Security chaired by Honourable Sali Dahirou examined the 83 sections of the bill that is divided into 10 chapters and grouped under four parts.
