2020 Tokyo Handball Qualifiers : Cameroon Begins Preparations

The African zone qualifying tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from September 26 to 29, 2019. Ahead of the important encounter, preparations have reached high gear in the country. The competition comes on the heels of the African Games that took place in Morocco last month. After winning silver at the African Games, the next target is to grab a ticket for the Olympic Games.

In order to meet this objective the head coach of the national women’s handball team, Serge Guebogo has invited 22 players to begin training in Yaounde. Out of the number, 16 are local players and six are based abroad. Training kicked off yesterday at the Concorde Sports Complex of the University of Yaounde 1, Ngoa-Ekele, at 4:00 p.m. Coach Serge Guebogo and the players are working on different aspects such as defensive and offensive tactics with particular attention on the goalkeepers in order to ensure the best results in Senegal.
