Death of Cameroon’s Ambassador to Ethiopia : Nation Pays Diplomatic Homage

Late Jacques-Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule received diplomatic honours at the Ministry of External Relations on September 12, 2019 with Minister Mbella Mbella representing the Head of State.
Members of the diplomatic corps, cabinet members and other officials on September 12, 2019 at the Ministry of External Relations and at the Yaounde General Hospital Mortuary paid their last respects to late Jacques-Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule, Cameroon’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps who died on August 12, 2019 in Addis Ababa. The Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella represented the Head of State during the ceremony. Jacques-Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule was before his death equally Cameroon’s Permanent Representative to the African Union and the Economic Commission of the United Nations for Africa in Ethiopia.
In an eulogy by Minister Mbella Mbella read out by the Inspector General of Patrimony, John Billy- Eko, Jacques-Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule was simple, unassuming yet sophisticated diplomat. “For those who know him, the lost is immeasurable,” the Minister regretted. Quoting Nelson Mandela who said death is but something inevitable when a man has done something which he considers his duty, Minister Mbella Mbella said the departed diplomat fulfilled his duties as a civil servant of the State, a father and as a man in general. To the Minister, death only ends a life and not a relationship, for the time Ambassador Jacques- Alfred Ndoumbe Eboule spent at the Ministry will always be remembered. “He joined the diplomatic service in 1992 and had a sharp analytical mind,” Minister Mbella Mbella stated, adding that a picture of him always showing up in the office carrying his bag with laptop and other material for office work will rema...
