National Dialogue : Regions Submit Proposals

Prime Minister, Head of Government Chief Joseph Dion Ngute on September 23, 2019 received the delegations from most of the regions.


By 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute had received delegations from five regions of the country who all came with written proposals on how to resolve the socio-political and security crisis in the North West and South West regions, as well as ways of promoting general peace, security and development of the entire country.
Governors from the various regions led the delegations that were constituted of political, economic and other elite each taking into account local specificities. Members of each delegation manifested enthusiasm in their gesticulations and readiness to contribute for peace to return to the restive North West and South West Regions.
The first Region that submitted proposals to the Prime Minister was the Adamawa Region led by their Governor, Kildadi Taguieke Boukar. After their discussions with the Prime Minister, the Governor said the Adamawa Region handed documents with proposals, the main one being the return to peace and calm in the two crisis-ridden regions. Governor Naseri Paul Bea led the delegation of the Centre Region whose proposals centred on the need for peace, talking together, living together and development. The document handed to the Prime Minister, he said, concerned the way forward for peace in Cameroon and effective participation of all parts of the country. The East Regional delegation led by Governor Grégoire Mvongo was the third to submit proposals to the Prime Minister.
