Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric Hospital : Free Screening For Uterus, Breast Cancer

In prelude to the celebration of the 35th edition of the International Women’s Day, a screening campaign of the Uterus and the breast, as well as HIV/AIDS has been organized in honor of women. The campaign set for a week began on February 24 and to end today, February 28, 2020. Organized by the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital, it has since Monday witnessed a hand-full of women who have taken to this rendez-vous. So far, over seven per cent of these women have being diagnosed of having cancer of the uterus and the breast and immediately instructed of what to do. This statistic was given by Dr Tabola Fossa Lionel, Medical Oncologist, who is a member of the team that is charged with the campaign. The screening was done with the use of the Anapat specialty, which stands for “Anatomy Pathology” which permits screening to be done.
