Mussaka : Ghastly Accident Claims Seven Lives

15 survivors are currently receiving medical attention at the Buea Regional Hospital with various degrees of injuries.
A ghastly accident in Mussaka, near Muea in Buea Subdivision, on September 27, 2020 has claimed seven lives. The accident involved a picnic vehicle matriculated SW 750 BE driven by Nguewou Tchuinkwa with 10 passengers. It was heading to Buea from Muyuka Town. The other car, Carina E, matriculated CE 880 BE was driven by someone cordially called Ondo Ndong by his peers. Ondo Ndong left Mile 17 Bus Station in Buea and was heading towards Ekona.
Police Investigators at the Regional Unit for Public Highway and Traffic for the South West found at Bongo Square - Buea, said that the accident which occurred about 9:05 pm on Sunday September 27, 2020, resulted from drunkenness and reckless driving. That Ondo Ndong was drunk and driving at neck break speed, clocking over 140 km. That he left his own lane on the right and crushed into the picnic on the left lane, resulting to seven dead.
One of the deceased, a little child, was buried that same night while six corpses have been preserved in the Buea Regional Hospital Mortuary. The 15 survivors with various degrees of injuries are receiving medical attention at the Buea Regional Hospital. Among the survivors at the Buea Regional Hospital are two siblings, one eight years and the other four years. Their parents died in the ghastly accident and the children are in a very bad shape. The other older one underwent an operation on his stomach a day after the accident.
