Opening Ceremony : Colourful Cultural Spectacle

The opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Total African Nations Championship kicked off with a colourful spectacle that left spectators spellbound.  The cultural display depicted the rich cultural diversity of Cameroon. Visitors at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium on Saturday went back home with a beautiful picture of Cameroon’s cultural heritage. Spectators watched with enthusiasm a huge cultural display that was the major attraction in the opening ceremony. 
The dancers dressed in traditional attires of the four cultural zones of Cameroon exhibited dance steps from the Sawa zone and Bikutsi, Njang and Bendskin from the forest and grass field zones in Cameroon. The playground was specially decorated with a huge colourful African cloth and the dancers performed on different sectors according to the dress cultures of the country. The national ballet group led the display in a thrilling demonstration that lasted for close to 30 minutes. The cultural show was equally marked by a huge fireworks display.
