Combating Malaria : Parliamentarians Taskforce Launched

This was on June 15, 2021 in Yaounde during a partnership event between stakeholders.

In order to better curb the spread of malaria in the country, a parliamentary taskforce for malaria resource mobilisation in Cameroon has been launched. The initiative launched in Yaounde on June 15, 2021 is the brainchild of the institution “Impact Santé Afrique (ISA)” in collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) of the Ministry of Public Health, and seeks to identify and discuss concrete actions that parliamentarians could implement in support of national targets to mobilise resources in the fight against malaria. 
Explanatory notes on the reason for the creation of the taskforce indicate that parliamentarians have a crucial role to play in the fight against malaria as they are uniquely positioned to contribute to the implementation of the effective and efficient malaria control response that emerges from the national strategic plan. 
The Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, while appreciating the gesture said partnering with lawmakers in the fight against the spread of malaria is key as stakeholders need to be diversified for optimal reasons.
