Recruitment of Teachers : Joseph LE Reassures Disgruntled Instructors

During a consultative meeting, representatives of some teachers’ trade unions were briefed on their integration process.


The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph LE has succeeded to bring to reason, representatives of trade unions handling the recruitment and integration of 1,000 bilingual teachers, 1,000 Nursery and Primary school teachers and 885 Technical teachers for the 2019  fiscal year. This was during an enriching exchange between Minister LE and teachers’ representative yesterday September 1, 2021. During the meeting, the minister was able to clarify the teachers on all the grey areas in their recruitment process, which seem to create a bone of contention since 2019. 
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms said since April 2021, he has been in a constructive and permanent dialogue with the teachers’ trade unionists, which to him, is producing convincing results. More especially with the publication of the exact situation of their recruitment files last July on all digital platforms of the Public Service and Administrative Reforms. Joseph LE, however expressed surprise when on August 23; a strike action was announced by some of these teachers with the word- not to resume classes on September 6 for the 2021/2022 academic year. Minister Joseph LE said the meeting was  far from being a court of law. It was a platform to reassure the skeptics on the exact situation of their recruitment files, convince the undecided and confirm to all that the government is doing everything possible to satisfy their needs.
