National Gendarmerie : Administrative Block, Health Centre Inaugurated

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence Joseph Beti Assomo presided at the inauguration ceremony in Yaounde on January 7, 2022.
Cameroon’s National Gendarmerie now has a state-of-the-art brand new administrative block and a Military Health Centre that comprises of three blocks of one-story building and a VIP bed ward. The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo on behalf of the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Force, President Paul Biya presided at the inauguration ceremony of the futuristic buildings on January 7, 2022.
Minister Beti Assomo extended the congratulations of the Head of State to the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax Etoga and promised to forward to the Head of State, the message of thanks of the National Gendarmerie. The administrative block and the health centre were the fulfilment of the vision of President Paul Biya to modernise the defence and security forces and give them good working conditions.
Following the presentation of the Director of Central Administration and Logistics at the National Gendarmerie, Colonel Ovono Ngomba, the administrative block comprises of ground level, ground floor and three upper floors for office use. The building is equipped with three escape doors and three stairwells, eight-person lift, 3,000 square metre courtyard meant for gatherings complimented with a flower centre pole, energy self-sufficient with an electrical transformer, generator with capacity of 550KVA. The Military Health Centre has 50 beds and facilities such as medical unit, radiology, surgery, dental care, gynaecology, maternity and child welfare, pharmacy and laboratory.
