Enhancing National Development : MPs, Diaspora Share Views

This was during an exchange between the parliamentary network on the diaspora and Cameroonians abroad over a common meal on January 25, 2022.


Members of the Parliamentary Network on the Diaspora, Decentralisation and Cross-border Cooperation, abbreviated REP-COD, have met with some Cameroonians of the diaspora to share views on contributing to the national development of the country. This was during a common meal on January 25, 2022 offered by the parliamentary network to the Cameroonians living abroad who are in the country to cheer and encourage the Indomitable Lions to victory in the ongoing AFCON TotalEnergies 2021. 
In her remark during the common meal, the eldest member of the National Assembly, Hon. Laurentine Koa Mfegue epse Mbede said the initiative is a platform for the exchange of ideas on how to contribute to the development of the country. “Beyond the common meal, we are making them to feel at home as Cameroon is naturally their home. Cameroon is a land of opportunities and potentials. It is also a very young country of just 60 years old that seeks emergence and cannot do that without the support of Cameroonians in the diaspora,” she stated. The parliamentary network which has as President Hon. Louis Henri Ngantcha, the eldest member of the National Assembly stated, has since its creation been involved in activities geared at improving societal growth in several spheres with the most recent achievement being the inauguration of their head office in Yaounde in December 2021.
