Bafoussam: Youths Mark National Youth Day In Enthusiasm

An enthusiastic crowd of over 15,000 people, comprising primary school pupils, secondary and high school students, professional and university institutions, political parties, sports and cultural associations, as well as social groups, converged at the Bafoussam Ceremonial Ground on 11th February 2022. In jubilant mood, they gave the 56th National Youth Day celebration the pomp and gaiety it deserves.
The ecstasy in Bafoussam was watched by Governor Awa Fonka Augustine as well as political, administrative, traditional and religious authorities of the Bafoussam, the West regional capital city. The ceremony that started with the replay of the Head of State, President Paul Biya’s  speech to the youths, was closely followed by a superb march past. The 2-hour, 15-minute colourful event saw some 103 primary schools, 26 secondary and high schools, as well as 16 professional and university institutions, pass the grandstand to the cheerful approval of dignitaries. They all carried effigies of the Head of State and brandished national flags.
