Strengthening Business Ties : UK Trade Envoy Visits Douala

After visiting some companies in the economic capital, he promised collaboration and support to improve on the business sector in Cameroon.

The UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Cameroon at the Department for International Trade (DIT), Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has called on the business community in Cameroon and Douala in particular to make use of the opportunity that Great Britain is offering at the moment.
He was speaking in Douala on Thursday February 17, during a dinner organized to meet with some business people which was aimed at presenting the different opportunities offered by the UK to Cameroon in particular. He said they have recognized a lot of opportunities in Cameroon for more British businesses to invest and to grow the level of trade between both countries. He added that the UK is making Africa an absolute priority to increase the level of trade and Cameroon has been identified as one of the priority markets to increase trade and investment.
He revealed that his visit to Douala permitted him to meet with British businesses in Cameroon as well as local businesses to get firsthand information and map out ways on how to move forward.  He said they were supporting the government to ensure a peaceful Cameroon for more trade ties.
