Stepping Up Covid-19 Vaccination : Multi-Sectoral Communication Platform Created In NW

A communication advocacy and capacity building workshop to that effect took place at the North West Regional Delegation of Communication on February 16, 2022.


The North West features amongst the first four regions in the country with the highest number of Covid-19 cases following recent statistics. Coupled with the crisis in the region, the number of vulnerable persons keeps increasing and access to health facilities in some cases is difficult. Considering  the global  effects of  the virus with  Cameroon and the North   West  not left out,  a regional multi-sectoral communication task force  has been created which will be turning full circle  to scale up   Covid-19 jabs   in all the corners  of the  region.
A communication advocacy and capacity building to that effect was organised at the Regional Delegation of Communication on February 16, 2022 chaired by North West Communication Delegate, Njike Celestine who is also the brain behind the task force. He said the platform is aimed at using the various communication focal points to penetrate the suburbs with information relating to the jabs. This, he said, is because many people are still sceptical to take the vaccine while others are still not informed. He however recommended continuous respect of barrier measures put in place by the government.
On his part, Saho Raoul, Communication Focal Point at the North West Regional Delegation of Public Health presented statistics on Covid-19 prevalence in the region.
