Nigerian Army Again Records Victory In Kangarwa

The army repelled a Boko Haram attack and killed 16 fighters on August 14, 2016.

 

After  Boko Haram fighters met their waterloo in the  Kangarwa battle last July with 25 of  them killed, the second battle took place last Sunday, August 13, 2016 in which 16 other Boko Haram militants were killed.

The Nigerian army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman in a release said,  “Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at harbour in Kangarwa yesterday successfully repelled suspected remnants of Boko Haram terrorists attack. The attack was launched by the suspected terrorists at about 5:30pm on Sunday 14th August 2016. The alert troops rose to the occasion and dealt a decisive blow on the insurgents, by killing 16 of them and recovering arms and ammunition from them,” Naij.com quoted. He added that an officer and 11 soldiers were wounded in action during the encounter. “We are glad to state they have all been treated at the unit’s medical facility and are all in stable condition,” Sani Usman is quoted as saying.
