Star Building: PM Dion Ngute Receives UNESCO International Experts

The experts will work with Cameroon to implement United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute now knows the International Experts who will work with the country to implement UNESCO Convention 2003. The convention which Cameroon ratified in 2012 is the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO Treaty adopted by the UNESCO General Conference on 17 October 2003.
The UNESCO team of International Experts that will work with Cameroon’s Ministry of Arts and Culture is led by Sidi Traore.   After discussions with the Prime Minister, the UNESCO Regional Director for Central Africa, Salah Khaled who came with the delegation of experts told the press that the audience was,  “To introduce the international experts of UNESCO Convention 2003 who are here to work with the Ministry of Arts and Culture to build the capacities of institutions and communities to be able to submit the inscription file of the cultural elements of Cameroon’s intangible heritage to be inscribed in UNESCO Intangible  Cultural Heritage lists.”
