CIRCB : Upholding Gender Equality For Sustainable Development

An educative talk on the theme fighting gender-based violence took place at the “Chantal Biya” Research Centre yesterday March 7, 2022.
The Director General of the “Chantal Biya” International Reference Centre for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Management (CIRCB), Professor Alexis Ndjolo has called on all women to be aware of the fact that there are differences in behaviour which are based on gender. He added that women are not considered in certain situations in the same capacity as men as well as men who are not also considered in certain situations as women. He was speaking yesterday March 7, 2022 during an educative talk as a prelude to the 37th edition of the International Women’s Day which is being commemorated today under the theme, “Gender Equality Today For a Sustainable Tomorrow.” The Sub-Director for the Promotion of Gender in the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family, Vivian Jioy Kendemeh, represented the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family at the event.
Discussing the theme, ‘Fighting Gender-Based Violence: A key Challenge to Achieve Gender Equality”, Professor Alexis Ndjolo said it is important for men and women to understand that they are equal and complement each other when need be.
