MINREX : Stakeholders Preach Equity, Equality

Within the context of the celebration of the 37th edition of the International Women’s Day, staff of the Ministry of External Relations led by women, have organised an exchange to highlight the importance of gender equality in societal growth especially in strengthening international relations. Commemorated under this year’s theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” debates were opened on March 7, 2022 by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Chinmoun Oumarou, in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps.
In his statement, the Secretary General stated that it has become tradition for stakeholder to devote time to reflect on progress made in the promotion of the rights of women and girls. “In light of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the international community as well as the Agenda 2063 of the African Union, our country, under the esteemed stewardship and in compliance with the vision of the Head of State, has for a very long time been provided with a National Gender Policy,” he stated, adding that the National Development Strategy Document (SND30) reinforces gender equality.
