Recruitment, Integration and Retirement reforms : Public Service Minister Addresses UB Community

Bottlenecks of the public service are now under severe checks. The Public Service and Administrative Reform Minister, Joseph LE, has concluded an expedition to the South West Region where he clarified and assured the University of Buea community of the strict implementation of high level instructions by the Head of State to simplify recruitment and integration into the public service.
While at the University of Buea and in the presence of Vice Chancellor Horace Manga Ngomo, the Minister highlighted that trainees of ENSET or Higher Technical Teachers Training College of Kumba under the University of Buea will henceforth see their files treated at the South West Regional delegation of the Public Service even before they leave school. This will be an improvement from sending their files to the Higher Education Ministry in Yaounde for integration procedures in the past. Another development explained is the fact that the Delegation of Public Service and Administrative Reforms in Buea is sufficiently equipped with the necessary ICT which can enable the dematerialization of files, as such, instantly letting Yaounde know what they have recorded as documents from candidates seeking recruitment or integration. To crown the new measures coming on the heels of the cries of teachers, the Minister explained that with the new dispensation, any graduate from a professional training school will have their salary within three months upon graduation.
The Minister later chaired a meeting with his decentralized staff at the Public Service Regional Delegation hall. While here among his collaborators, the Minister sounded a stern warning to all staff that the timing to treat files is stipulated and anyone fumbling with such would immediately be brought to book. Minister Joseph LE cautioned his staff to take the new reforms very seriously as no laxity would be tolerated again. He laid emphases on the new methods which avoid delays by decentralizing the treatment of files. He promised sending experts again to go down to the field and train the staff on the new methods of rapidly handling files. The Minister equally instructed the Regional Delegate of MINFOPRA to keep the Regional Governor informed of every step of their work for supervision.
