Ouesso –Sangmelima Road : ECCAS Wants Infrastructure Operational

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on April 7, 2022 received the delegation of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to discuss the modalities.
The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) that assured the general coordination during the construction project of the road linking Sangmelima in Southern Cameroon to Ouesso in Congo now wants the road to go operational with the movement of people and goods and services.
The Cameroon part of the road was inaugurated in 2021 and the Congolese part was inaugurated in 2020. ECCAS with an additional responsibility to facilitate circulation and exchange of goods and services between Cameroon and Congo and beyond through road corridor, has built a Unique Border Control Post and is now out to put in place a Management Committee of the post.
It was with the objective of enabling the Ouesso-Sangmelima road go operational that the Commissioner for Regional Planning and Infrastructure in the ECCAS Commission, Cameroonian-born, Ngakono Marie Thérèse Chantal Mfoula Edjomo led the organisation’s delegation to the Star Building in Yaounde on April 7, 2022 for discussions with Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute.
